There's a widely held understanding that first-rate materials can yield both first- and second-rate products, but second-rate materials are incapable of producing first-rate products. This concept is as applicable to our knitwear production as it is to any other field. The consensus is clear: first-rate products originate from a combination of first-rate materials and first-rate craftsmanship. On the contrary, second-rate materials might generate second-rate products, but they will never result in first-rate ones.
Regardless of the sophistication of the sales strategy or the amount of money spent on advertising, I believe that products not crafted from first-rate materials and top-notch craftsmanship - essentially lacking these crucial elements - cannot be considered as "first-rate" products.

There are two types of fashion brands: factory brands that have evolved from manufacturing, and designer brands that were born from designers. As you all know, brands like Louis Vuitton, Hermès, and Gucci originally focused on crafting goods, and their quality and reliability were born from this dedication. On the other hand, designer brands like Chanel, Dior, and Armani have made a name for themselves with their exceptional designs.



Most Japanese fashion brands are apparel brands, and their products are made in external OEM factories. These factories need to change materials and designs according to trends, making it difficult to deeply focus on one material or design.

UTО is a rare factory brand in Japan. It is a genuine "Made in Japan" brand that sticks to the finest cashmere materials, and its craftsmen accumulate cashmere knitwear skills and knowledge at its factory in Kitakami City, Iwate Prefecture, and carefully produce one garment at a time without being carried away by mass production.
In addition, the simplified distribution process of in-house planning, manufacturing, and sales has made it possible to realize such a reasonable price while maintaining the same quality as the world's top brands.
