Knitwear is difficult to mend.

Knitted fabrics are made up of a series of loops, so if one part of a knitted fabric falls out or frayed, the damage will spread from there. It is important to take care of it as soon as possible to prevent further damage. However, mending a sweater is difficult for an amateur and takes a lot of time even for a professional. Depending on the condition of the damage, it may be much easier to re-knit a new sweater. However, cashmere is an expensive material, so it is difficult to re-knit it so easily.

Also, there is a difference in the perception of the size of scars. For the knitter, a small scratch is just an eye or two, but when you look at the sweater you received, it may be as small as a scratch on your thumb, even though you said on the phone that it was a small scratch. We are not able to fix such a small scratch, but it is difficult to do so (of course, we can fix it, but the cost will be higher).

Even if it is small, it is often the case that there are multiple openings due to insect bites, etc. Sometimes we are told that there are three openings, but upon closer inspection, we find that there are five or six openings that have been eaten away.
The degree of difficulty varies greatly depending on the location of the wound and the knitting fabric, and while jersey is relatively easy to fix, ribs and yoke patterns are very difficult, and unfortunately, there are cases where it is impossible to fix the wound so that it is not noticeable and the wound does not spread further. In all cases, we proceed with the repair after confirming with the customer.
