Washing of cashmere knitwear
Recommendation to hand-wash by yourself

Many people say that they avoid cashmere knitwear because it costs a lot of money for dry cleaning. Also, many people seem to think that cashmere must be cleaned.
It is not hard to understand that light and fluffy cashmere knitwear is delicate and expensive, and that people send it to the dry cleaning because they are worried about it shrinking if they make a mistake.
I recommend to those I have met in person to hand-wash their knitwear by themselves whenever I have the chance. Hand washing can be done in the hand-wash mode of your washing machine.
If you wash it as I am going to explain, it will never shrink. Please wash your cashmere knitwear by yourself because it is very important.

There are five points to remember

1) Wash with water
(2) Use ordinary wool washing detergent and fabric softener, or your own shampoo and conditioner.
(3) Put one or two pieces in a net and wash by pressing for a short time or by hand washing mode of a washing machine.
(4) Dehydrate in a dehydrator
(5) Adjust to original size and hang dry flat

1 Wash in water
Please remember that 'the higher the temperature of the water, the more likely it is to shrink, and the longer the friction and washing time, the more likely it is to shrink and fluff.
People often say 'use lukewarm water,' but it is better not to use lukewarm water because the sensory temperature of lukewarm water varies from person to person. Use water.
Cashmere goats live in a harsh climate with extremely cold winters and hot summers. God gave them that downy coat to protect themselves from the harsh climate. In nature, there is no such thing as a warm rain. It rains cold. It is the downy hair that grows to withstand it. Room temperature water is sufficient for washing, and as long as the detergent is dissolved, even slightly cold water will do.

2 Wool washing detergents, fabric softeners, shampoos, and conditioners
You can use any wool detergent or fabric softener that is sold in the market. If possible, we recommend using your favorite shampoo and conditioner, including the fragrance.

3 Reduce friction
Cashmere is a delicate fiber, so be careful of friction. If you wash it with many other laundry items, the friction between them will cause it to fluff up, so please wash one or two items at a time in short, gentle washing times, as if you were swimming in water.
A short wash or washing in hand wash mode should be enough to remove normal stains. Knit yarns are less twisted than textile yarns, and the knitted fabric is much looser than textile yarns, so it is easier to remove stains.
If a stain is noticeable on a part of the garment, it can be removed by finger cleaning, but if the stain persists, it is more likely to be a stain than a dirt. If the protein has changed and turned into a stain, it is beyond the scope of laundering, so you have no choice but to ask a specialist.

4 Dehydrate in a dehydrator
After rinsing, it is important to wring it out. Fold the garment neatly and remove the water completely with a dehydrator.
Many people are surprised to hear, "A dehydrator? Yes, we recommend using a dehydrator!
We recommend you use a dehydrator!
The knitwear in the dehydrator will stick to the drum due to centrifugal force and the water will be blown away, so there will be less damage to the knitwear. Also, once the water is removed, it is less likely to lose its shape.

5 Shape and dry flat
After washing, the knitwear has not shrunk, so please adjust the knitwear to its original size. Dry the garment on the floor with a bath towel or the like. After about half a day, turn the sweater over and reposition it. Otherwise, there will be a lot of moisture under the sweater.
It is easier to dry in a well-ventilated area. Of course, a little sunshine is fine. If you hang it half-drawn and damp to dry, the moisture will accumulate at the bottom and its weight will cause it to stretch, and when it dries, that stretched state will set in. This is a typical example of a bad drying method.
Hot air dryers should be avoided at all costs. If you put the garment in the dryer, the hot air will cause the garment to shrink like children's clothing due to a phenomenon known as "felt".
This is unique to wool, and there is no way it will not shrink because this is the way felt is made.

If you follow these points, you can wash your cashmere knitwear by hand as usual (hand wash mode of washing machine) and you will not have any problem.
If your UTO cashmere knit shrinks by this method, we will make a new one or refund your money, so please wash it by yourself.
