How can I prevent pilling?
Be careful of friction and continuous wear

Wearing a sweater is friction for the sweater, so friction cannot be eliminated, but the degree of friction is the most important factor, so do not wear the sweater for strenuous work or continuously for several days. Some men, in particular, wear the same item for several days in a row. Be careful.

When worn with a jacket, friction from arm movement is the main cause, but there have also been cases where the back of a woolen seat in a car or other vehicle has rubbed against it, causing it to become a furball. What you may not notice is when you wear a jacket over a sweater. Unlined tweed jackets, for example, are strictly prohibited. In other cases, furballs can also be caused by rubbing against canvas bags, etc.

Brushing after wearin

The source of furballs is when fibers become entangled with each other, or when foreign objects or static electricity cause fibers to stick together and begin to tangle. Foreign objects are not so much visible debris as tiny pieces of fiber. The best way to eliminate the source of these pilling is to brush the garment frequently. A little brushing before putting the garment away will make a big difference.

Be careful of humidity and temperature

There have been cases of underarms pilling up after playing golf with a windbreaker on, or pilling up after 4-5 hours of driving a car with a jumper on inside and held by a seatbelt. This is a typical example of a jumper that steams and rubs against the seatbelt.
